R.E. McMahon carries specialist FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) fabrication capability from our Unanderra workshop. Our equipment and expertise in this area is considerable — much of it is not available elsewhere in the Illawarra region.
FRP piping and vessels are used in chemical processing, water treatment, mining, and industrial applications where corrosion resistance, chemical compatibility, or weight is a factor. We fabricate, repair, and install FRP components to project specification.

Plastic Welding
Using a range of specialist welding techniques suited to the material and application

Tank Repairs
FRP tanks are repairable — cracks, delamination, structural repairs, and lining restoration. We inspect, assess, and carry out repairs to extend asset life rather than defaulting to replacement.
Pipe Repairs
In-situ repairs and full section replacement of FRP pipework. We carry materials to enable rapid response to damaged or failed pipe sections.
Fabrication
Custom fabrication of FRP components, structures, and assemblies to drawing or site specification. Piping spools, tanks, ducting, vessels, and associated supports.
Fibreglass (FRP Laminating)
Our team includes FRP-qualified laminators. We carry out new laminates, overlays, and structural repairs on fibreglass tanks, vessels, and structures.

Our Workshop
We operate from two large factory areas in Unanderra. Both are equipped for large-scale fabrication and can accommodate substantial work-in-progress. We also hold extensive stocks of FRP materials and fittings for rapid response to urgent requirements.
